Season Preview: 1st Grade

Season Preview: 1st Grade

1st Grade:

Last season: 11th
Leading Batsmen: Jake Fawcett (516 @ 51.6), Mitch Mcgee (470 @ 42.73), John Rogers (413 @ 27.53), Rob Richards (387 @ 24.19), Christian Smith (328 @ 21.87), Kyle Millar (288 @ 24), Joel Charles (276 @ 27.6)
Leading Bowlers: Chris Quelch (26 @ 20.23), Gary Atkinson (22 @ 22.64), Kyle Millar (15 @ 39.93)

Last season did not go as well as we had hoped after the success we had the year before. A combination of poor form and untimely injuries to a number of players led to us finishing outside of finals.

This season:
Captain: Chris Quelch
Gains: Younger players really stepping up and finding maturity in their game. Jack Leach comes to us also from the UK, a very promising left arm off spin option to compliment a promising attack.
Losses: We lost a number of players to other clubs and through retirement, however, this only opened the door for the next crop of A grade Roos to step up with more opportunities.
Predicted Finish: Premiers

Chris Quelch: “I am really excited about the 2015 season with the energy and youth around the group revitalizing. I see our batting as a strength with a lot of pressure coming from good young batsmen in all grades. The presence of 2 new bowling coaches has all seen our bowling group progress to the start of the season better prepared than ever. We look forward to once again be competing for finals success in all 3 formats.”

Season Preview: 2nd Grade

Season Preview: 2nd Grade

Last season: 5th
Leading Batsmen: Jesse Budge (322 @ 20.13), Bailey Nylander (261 @ 32.63), Brendan Murray (233 @ 123.3), John Walter (225 @ 37.5)
Leading Bowlers: John Walter (43 @ 12.44), Jason Parry (32 @ 10.34), Josh Quelch (21 @ 21.29)

The 2nds had a slow start to the 2014/2015 season but with a lot of heart and determination they made the finals and ended the season in 5th spot on the log. Unfortunately they lost a close game in the elimination against Perth CC

This season:
Captain: Donavinn Fryer
Gains: A wealth of young talented players
Losses: B.Murray (University) J.Mcpee (Fremantle) NP.Henry (Brisbane)
Predicted Finish: Premiers

The 2nds will be looking to have a strong and consistent season this year with a couple of young, exciting and talented players and hopefully a successful Finals campaign.

Season Preview: 3rd Grade

Season Preview: 3rd Grade

Last season: Premiers
Leading Batsmen: Cam MacDonald (422 @ 32.46), Alex Burton (395 @ 28.21), Graeme Atkinson (365 @ 52.14), Haydn Slodecki (361 @ 24.07), Rich May (342 @ 28.50), Dan Peters (276 @ 25.09), Chris Moses (271 @ 33.88), Bailey Nylander (211 @ 52.75)
Leading Bowlers: Josh Smith (28 @ 17.46), Adam Smith (21 @ 13.38), Scott Pearson (19 @ 27.11)

A dominant regular season by the Magees saw them finish 2nd on the ladder before crushing all before them in the finals to win the flag. Cam MacDonald led from the front with 400+ runs, supported strongly by a wealth of talented and hard-working batsmen & bowlers.

This season:
Captain: Matt Fawcett
Gains:
Losses:
Predicted Finish: Premiers

Season Preview: 4th Grade

Season Preview: 4th Grade (a.k.a. “The Troops”)

Last season: 3rd
Leading Batsmen: Matt Fawcett (477 @ 28.06), Allan Hall (310 @ 31), James Dicarlo (288 @ 19.2), Lloyd Quinlan (263 @ 16.44), Brayden Meyers (231 @ 25.67), Greg Maher (208 @ 52)
Leading Bowlers: Aden Fawcett (39 @ 28.46), Braden Quinn (21 @ 14), Brayden Meyers (21 @ 18.14), James Dicarlo (19 @ 17.21)

The boys from Kingsway 2 had a dominant 2014/16, yet failed to land the killer blow on several occasions. Unfortunately one such occasion was the Elimination Final, where the Troops were bundled out for just 73 after routing Perth CC for 103.

This season:
Captain: Allan Hall
Gains: A wealth of young talent
Losses: James Dicarlo (Overseas), Joel Carnie (Retired), Brayden Meyers (Carpet cricket)
Predicted Finish: Premiers

The Troops will be looking to convert a strong season with a successful Finals campaign in 2015/16, bolstered by plenty of talent from the youth coming through from the 15s/17s.
