After a tough start to the season with only 1 win from 4 one-day games the A grade side struggled to gain any real momentum throughout the season with some emphatic wins and crushing defeats. Inconsistency in all aspects of our game let us down when it really mattered, and the mental side of the game is something that we are working hard at developing this preseason. Whilst we are still quite a young side it is promising to see many of the players stepping up in their role as leaders of the club and increases the expectations of training and performances. Our focus this season will be getting back to the simple things that we have neglected in the past 2 seasons, discipline early in our innings and bowling one side of the wicket to build pressure. Our club continues to develop talented junior cricketers and they are working their way up the ranks to strengthen every grade. We are hopeful of being competitive in all forms of the game and to really push for finals once again.

This season:

Captain: Chris Quelch

Gains:
Dan Lawrence (Essex County), will fill the void left at number 4 in our batting ranks. He comes to us after a stellar season in the County Championships where he has been identified as a future prospect by the ECB.

Connor Smith (Joondalup DCC), has also joined us this season as a promising left arm quick and right hand bat. I look forward to seeing the young cricketer thrive in such a supportive environment.

Losses:
Jack Leach unfortunately will not be returning to us this year after being named in the England touring side as a result of dominating County Cricket this season.

Jake Fawcett has unfortunately left us to take up an opportunity to play in the Sydney grade system. A significant loss, however, we wish him all the best for his endeavours to make the next step in his career.

Predicted Finish: Finals
