It is with great sadness that yesterday we sadly lost one of our pioneering legends of the club Dick Wheeler. He has had a couple of health battles over the past 6 months, but sadly after the numerous hospital visits found that some battles were insurmountable.
Dick was a foundation member of the club, club coach and a myriad of other roles while being at the club over the past 47 years, which also led to him being named a life member of our great club in 1988 with his great mate Fred La Rose.
Dick was a fixture at the club since the late 70’s and to all the far newer members you will know him only as Sandy’s wonderful husband and having a beer with his other great mates Terry Curtist & Smithy Cartoons on a Saturday afternoon of an A Grade home game.
At just 69, this is way too young to leave us Dick and you will be sadly missed by all at your club, especially your advice over the years for me. We send all our love to your wonderful family – especially Sandy, Allan & Kate, your many friends and from all that have had the pleasure to be involved with you at the Wanneroo Districts Cricket Club.
Reception details to honour the life of the great man are to follow.
RIP Dickie xxxxx
