Congratulations to our T20 Roo boys on winning the WA Statewide T20 Competition yesterday at Fletcher Park & the WACA!
The first stop for the Roo Train was Fletcher Park, taking on the WA Indigenous XI. Batting first, it was a 20 & 30 fest with contributions from Rob “Cho” Richards (25), Max “Maxibon” Holden (33), Christian “Skip” Smith (29), Jacob “Rigosaurus” Johnston (30), before Donnie “The Ice Man” closed out the innings with 40 from must 19 balls. Defending 201, our Roo boys bowled frugally to keep the Indigenous XI to just 7/96. Richards took 2/7 and wickets were also taken by Ardagh, Quelch, Cattrall & Miller.

In the Grand Final held at the WACA, our Roos were off to a flyer thanks to “Mad” Max Holden who made 91 off just 58 balls. Jacob “BAS” Johnston made 51, and the Country XI was set an imposing 186 for victory. Whilst the Country boys scored at a reasonable pace, regular wickets brought about thier downfall with evergreen Mike “Aardvark” Ardagh taking 3/20 and Rob “Big Viv” Richards taking 2/24.
