Saturday was largely successful for WDCC in both Seniors and Juniors.
In the Seniors, 1st Grade posted a competitive total of 271 courtesy of Dan Lawrence (59), Aaron Brunner (50) and Bailey Nylander (40). 2nd Grade chased some leather but will chase 327 next week on a flat Kingsway pitch. Johnny Walter and Jamie Miller took three wickets each. 3rd Grade rolled Willeton for 127, with club legend Jason Parry taking 5/25. Dylan Banks supported well with three wickets. In reply our Roo boys are 4/106, with Elliot Ruff (32) and Allan Hall (35) combining for a 70 odd run partnership. 4th Grade trucked hard in the heat to bowl Willeton out for 207, with Ralph Day (4/48) and Vinnie Clark (3/47) taking the bulk of the wickets.
In the Juniors, both the 17s & 15s are in strong positions. Jordan Slattery toook 3/20 as the 17s bowled Willeton out for 178. T Schofield took 4/27 in the 15s as Willeton was bowled out for 154.
On Sunday it was a party at Old Town but a sombre occasion at Young Town. The Vets easily accounted for Subiaco-Floreat, with plenty of worthy contributors. The Colts were soundly thrashed chasing Midland-Guildford’s 347, despite contributions from Vaughn Quinlan (41), Callum Douglas (33), Bailey Nylander (30) and Corey Rocchiccioli (30).
