Weekend Wrap

Saturday saw shared spoils between Wanneroo & Joondalup, with 1st & 4s being a stale sandwich of loss surrounding a filling of juicy 2s & 3s victory.

2nd Grade chased down Joondalup’s 188 in the last over with two wickets in hand. Mike “King of Fantasy” Ardagh took 3/37 whilst Cam “Sean Connery” MacDonald starred with the bat with 51.

3rd Grade posted 7/222 thanks to a class 65 from Tim “Boonda” Bond, before rolling Joondalup for just 105. Adam “Bradley Cooper Shakira” Smith was unplayable in his spell of 2/10, before Elijah “Lollybags” Gravestock had everyone guessing and batsmen visibly in fear as he took 6/41.

The Al Gores dismissed Joondalup for 205 with Matt “Purce” Purcell (4/48) and Saleem “Zoolander” Ahmed (3/34) shining. In reply, the Roos couldn’t build any partnerships and were dismissed for 169.

The 17s & 15s finished their two day matches vs. Willeton is style, with both teams tasting sweet victory.  A special mention to Aryan Varsani who scored 91 for the 15s.

Sunday was a day of angst for 1s & 2s, both going down to Perth.

In 1st Grade, Perth posted a healthy 7/273 (John “Ellen” Walter 3/53) before dismissing the Roos for 180. Kyle “Funky” Millar was best with the bat with 52.

2nd Grade lost in a thriller, after posting 7/232. Jordan “The Prince” King made 58, supported by Cam “C-Mac” MacDonald (43) and Rob “Fairfather” Fairchild (42), before Perth broke our hearts in the last over with just one wicket in hand.
