Spoils were shared on Saturday between the Roos and the Gulls, before a Family Day Celebration on Sunday saw three victories.
In 1st Grade, 1st Grade mustered 171 against Scarborough, thanks to a rearguard action from Jack “Kym” Cattrall and John “Minister for Fantasy” Walter who scored 41 each. In reply, the Gulls are 1/78 with some work from our boys required.
The Magoos put on a batting clinic at Abbett Park, with Jordan “The Prince” King’s 54 clearing a path for Rob “Fairfather” Fairchild (91) and Connor “Smear” Smith (77) to perform a demolition job and finish the day with 283 on the board.
The Magoos mirrored their counterparts at Kingsway, struggling early before Tim “Boonda” Bond and Riley “Buddy” Holly made 50 and 55* respectively to post 193. Scarborough are 1/5 in reply.
The Al Gores struggled to 139, with Braiden “Long Levers” Hudson keeping his team afloat with an unbeaten 52. Scarborough were 2/25 in reply when bad light stopped play.
In the Juniors, the 17s are in a strong position after posting 6/243. There were big scores posted from Next Gen Superstars Michael “Zoolander” Kelsey (80), Riley “Vallance, ” Holly (76) and Tim “Harry (I assume)” Harris (45).
The 15s restricted Scarborough to 6/148, with Sharad “Jessy (I assume)” Jessani taking 3/16.
On Sunday, the mighty Roos restricted Willetton to 9/83 with Jack “J-Cat” Cattrall taking 4/21 and Matt “Anthrax” Spoors taking 3/13. The Roos chased down the runs with seven wickets in hand, led by Anthrax (42*) and Jacob “BAS-Man” Johnston (29*).
Earlier, the Colts downed Willetton after posting 7/131. Nick “Full Barr” Barr led the way with 64. In reply, Willetton limped to 97, with Anthrax Spoors starring again with 4/10, ably supported by Deon “Lando” Billington (3/16).
The Vets also got up to take out the Sunday clean sweep. The Silver Roos rolled Bayswater for 96, and chased them down with 7 wickets in hand. Chris Barnes took three wickets and Ryan Santich scored 50.
