The weekend finished spectacularly for the Roos with our 1st Grade winning their T20 Semi Final and Preliminary Final in emphatic style!
In the Semi Final vs. Subiaco Floreat, Max “Mark” Holden (61) starred with the bat as the Roos posted 7/172 before Mike “Harder” Ardagh (4/34) and Kyle “Take Me to Funkytown” Millar (3/6) ripped through the Subi lineup to dismiss the Lions for 68.
Batting first again in the Preliminary Final, Kyle “Get on Board the Funk Train” Millar (37) top scored amongst several contributions as the Roos posted 8/139. In reply, Mt Lawley could only manage 90 with Rob “Keith” Richards (3/7) and Mat “Double-Z” Dzodzos (3/14) wreaked havoc with the ball.
The T20 GF will be held on the 28th January, get on board the Roo Train!
On the Saturday, 1st Grade stumbled in their chase of 300 at Rockingham-Mandurah, whilst 2s-4s tasted sweet victory including outright for the Al Gores.
In the Juniors, Wanneroo took out a clean sweep (a.k.a a “Golden Roo”) with the 17s & 15s knocking off Rockingham-Mandurah and the 13s & 14s triumphing over Subiaco Floreat the preceding Sunday.
