The Wanneroo Districts Cricket Club has been made aware of a child protection issue involving a player in the Northern Territory who is also a former player of our club. This matter was immediately actioned by NT Cricket in accordance with the Australian Cricket member protection policy and as a result referred to the relevant authorities and is now being handled by police. No further details have been made available to us. However, the player concerned had no involvement with our club’s junior program during his time at the club and at this stage we have received no information indicating that the player was involved with our club at the time of the incidents currently being investigated.
