It was a fantastic Preliminary Finals Weekend for 3s and the 17s, with both progressing to the Grand Final this weekend.
On a rain-affected Saturday, 3rd Grade were sent into bat against Subiaco Floreat. After a top order wobble, Andrew Slattery (53) steadied the ship and guided the team to 143. Wanneroo were ruthless with the ball and clinical in the field, bowling Subi out for just 76. Jason Parry (4/19) tore through the top order, Connor Smith (2/17) bowled with venom and accuracy, before Deon Billington (3/5) finished the job.
In the 17s, Wanneroo were again sent into bat in testing conditions. Needing only a draw to progress, a stoic batting performance led by Riley Holly (38) and Jordan Slattery (25*) secured a Grand Final berth.
Next week 3rd Grade will play Perth at Burrendah Reserve 1, whilst the 17s will travel to Lilac Hill 1 to take on Scarborough.
