Weekend Wrap: 7th & 8th January 2017
Saturday was a wonderful day for the club, with Seniors making a clean sweep in all grades.
Dan Lawrence and Mitch Mcgee starred with the bat in 1st Grade, whilst Jacob Johnston combined with 2nd Grade’s lower order to time their run chase to perfection.
Greg Maher, Andrew Slattery & Jason Parry pulled 3rd Grade out of a slump before Josh Quelch & Dylan Banks ran through Midland-Guildford for just 54! Cam Mac made a classy 95 in 4th Grade, with strong support from Vaughn Quinlan. The Troops score of 248 was too much for Midland-Guildford as a rampaging Elijah Gravestock took six wickets.
On Sunday our boys came crashing back to earth with both 1st & 2nd Grade losing to University, despite strong performances by Rob Richards (103) and Tristan Hobley (67*).
Our 17s had a strong win on the back of an allround performance by Caiden Eaton (3/16 and 32*), whilst the 15s lost in spite of a fighting 60 from Michael Herbst.
